In a collision of what can only be described as pure magical happenstance, performance artist Amy Van Doran, while wearing a lobster on her head, met the costume artisan Jillian Maslow, who got the reference. Amy Van Doran immediately quit her day job of 5 years, and began courting the lovely Miss. Maslow as her partner.
With 20 years of millinery experience between the two of them, they consider themselves artists first, and mad hatters second.
Every Upashe piece is one of a kind, numbered and catalogued as an art piece. We create these objects of wonder from family heirlooms, silk, feathers, leather, and other miscellany that falls into our orbit.
We design for the woman with taste, style, flamboyance, and, above all, wit.
